Solarpark Pocking, Germany 10MW powering 3500 households
This was one of the 4 solarparks that we visited in Bavaria, in southern Germany during our trip this summer. Note the sheep that graze underneath the panels. (I think they like the shade sometimes.) Don and I traveled in Germany for 2 weeks. We spent 3 days at the Intersolar, an annual conference and trade show on solar electric innovations, held in Freiburg. We had a good time but were a bit overwhelmed (as folks from the education world) to see how much $$ is spent on booths and accoutrement for same. The solar technology was very exciting. We then visited 4 of the largest solar electric installations in the world (all in S. Germany).
